How do I add friends?
Go to the Friends tab and tap Add Friend. Enter their username and tap Add — they'll get a notification to accept or decline. If they've already sent you a request, you'll connect instantly. You can view or cancel your sent requests, and accept or decline incoming ones, from the Pending Requests screen. Requests expire after 30 days if not acted on.
Why didn't I receive a notification?
Make sure notifications are enabled for Chirped in your iPhone Settings. Go to Settings → Notifications → Chirped and ensure Allow Notifications is turned on. Also check that you haven't silenced the person who chirped you — silenced users' chirps are received but not delivered to your notifications.
How does the match work?
If you chirp someone and they chirp you back on the same calendar day — it's a match. You're both revealed to each other simultaneously. This is the only way identities are ever shared in Chirped.
Can I change my username?
No — usernames are permanent and cannot be changed. Choose carefully when signing up. If you delete your account, your username is permanently retired and cannot be re-registered by anyone.
How many chirps do I get?
You get 3 chirps every day, resetting at midnight. Receiving a chirp gives you +1 bonus credit. Matching gives you +2 bonus credits (and your match partner gets +1). Bonus credits expire at midnight.
What does silencing someone do?
Silencing a friend means their chirps are received by the server but never delivered to you — no notification, no count, no match possible. They have no idea they've been silenced. You can un-silence them at any time from your Friends list.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete Account. You'll need to verify with an OTP code sent to your email. Deletion is permanent — your data is removed and your username is retired forever. Match history visible to your friends will show as "Deleted user".
Is my email address shared with anyone?
No. Your email is used only to send you login verification codes. It is never displayed in the app, never shared with other users, and never used for marketing. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
