Information We Collect

Email address
We collect your email address when you create an account. It is used solely to send you login verification codes (OTP). Your email is never displayed in the app, never shared with other users, and never used for marketing.

Username
You choose a username when you create an account. This is the only identifier visible to other users of the app. Usernames are permanent and cannot be changed.

Chirp activity
We store records of chirps sent and received to power the app's core features — your ChirpBox history, match records, and credit system. This data is associated with your account and is not shared with third parties.

Device token
We collect a device notification token to deliver push notifications to your device. This token is stored securely and used only to send you notifications from Chirped.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, phone number, or any government-issued ID
• We do not collect your location
• We do not track your activity across other apps or websites
• We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs
• We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to provide the Chirped service:

• Email: to send login verification codes
• Username: to identify you within the app
• Chirp activity: to show your history, matches, and stats
• Device token: to deliver push notifications

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal information is removed. Your username is permanently retired and cannot be re-registered. Match history visible to other users shows as "Deleted user" after account deletion.

Data Security

We use Firebase (Google) for our backend infrastructure, which provides industry-standard security. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).

Third Party Services

Chirped uses the following third party services to operate:

Children's Privacy

Chirped is rated 12+ and is not directed at children under 12. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 12.

Your Rights

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). This permanently removes your personal data from our systems.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
